Environment is the greatest contributions factor to both habit elimination and addition.
Knowing why you don’t like doing a habit that is hard for you is extremely helpful for knowing how to add the habit in a way that you’ll be able to stick to it.
Alex talks about how for him he never added sunscreen because he hated having oil on his hands.
He also didn’t want to have to carry it with him nor did he want to do it with an alarm on his phone because what if he wasn’t in a convenient place yo apply it.
Therefore, he put it at his three most used workspaces.
Success comes down to doing the obvious thing for an extraordinary period of time without convincing yourself you are smarter than you are.
Figure out whose quote this is. Alex couldn’t remember.
You can’t overestimate the absolute unimportance of almost everything. — John C. Maxwell
The first step to achieving a massive dream is conquering tiny impulses. — Alex Hormozi
You don’t build confidence by shouting affirmations in mirror, but by having an undeniable stack of proof that you are who you say you are. Outwork your self-doubt. — Alex Hormozi
You can start building proof with the smallest of victories. Even as small as getting dressed.
Ideation for small habit building:
Sitting down at desk.
Getting in bed at same time.
Working without music.
Writing a single sentence or word.
One of the greatest skills an entrepreneur can have is Risk Adjusted Return.

This is why he claims investors really are the best decision makers. He claims that investing gives us a scoreboard that allows us to gauge simply how good an investor is.
If you learn investing you learn how to make decisions in this Reality and you learn how to invest. It’s a win-win.
When things begin to feel meaningless and that there is no point to continue, just remind yourself that this is when the average person would give up and that this is where you can gain your advantage to win. Remind yourself that this is just what hard feels like, it’s nothing more, and that victories are had when things get hard.
This reminds me of my time in cross-country. At the end of the race when things would get hard I would allow myself to give up, to slow down. Other people would feel that pain and accelerate their pace. These people had the mindset that it takes to win. At the time I did not.
Let this regret sink in. Remember all the other times this exact habit loop would occur within me and how it would make me feel shame and take the easy way out. Accept that that is an option, but that pushing hard when the stimulus of pain hits is another equally as viable option that is proven to lead to success and victory.
Remember you can genuinely change, you are not stuck with that old way of being.

Power follows the blame finger.
How to get out of your head and into the world of action?
Knowing the input-output equation
If you can’t define the inputs and outputs that will get you what you want, then you will have no success because you much know where to begin.
Once you know what the input-output is, then the next question is why aren’t you doing it?
Knowing what you fuel is going to be.
Use whatever fuel you have. Not the fuel you wish you had, such as passion or service, but whatever fuel that can get you going, such as pain or anger.
Once you know these things you can use whatever fuel you have to to get you to do your first input. Once that fist input is complete, you are immediately in the game. You have crossed over. Just keep doing those actions over and over.
Alex talks a bit about how he was achieving a lot of success, but that he realized at a certain he was still only playing his father’s game. His father only cared and valued people based off of how much money they made.
I want to think about this. I think I have been playing my mother’s game for far too long. The good thing is that her games is a very good one and much closer to the Truth, but I think she values everyone based off of how Christian they are.
The point of the game is to keep playing the game. — Hormozi
The most rewarding games in life to play are infinite games.
You exercise to be in shape.
You improve at business to stay in business.
You learn to work well so you can continue to work well.
If you take all the fun out of engaging with games in the present moment because of your mind, then you are missing life.
There may not be a point. The point may just be to engage with life well and enjoy.
The three most common traits of highly successful people:
A belief that they are better and deserve more than others.
A deep feeling of insecurity and that they aren’t worthy or good enough.
Impulse control. The ability to delay gratification and not waiver from the path.
Always ask yourself what problem are you trying to solve, or what outcome am I optimizing for.
Another interesting thing to do maybe simply to observe your actions and then ask yourself based off these actions what outcome am I inherently optimizing for.
