At this point want to remake this video, but do it after the fact. Comparing what i did pack and how i would make it better from here on out.
Thinking.
Make a video of my packing list, and narrate why I am bringing each item. Use good camera motion for shot variation, but use camera motions that help the object actually read well. Have little check lists appear on the side of the screen explaining why I am bringing each object. For example, E-reader for reading Great books.
Do a stop motion. Laying everything out around backpack and then packing it all in. After I say each item cut to stop motion and show that appearing on ground around backpack.
Don’t feel the need to make every video explain everything I want to say. For example, on this video I wanted to explain what I wanted to read on my e-reader. But it would definitely be more worth my while to save that content for another video.
Make another video on this topic on slow days: “Publishing my daily journal via a newletter and on my website.”
Video on the daily video challenge and my philosophy for it.
Script.
Rough Draft.
I am attempting a great adventure.
I will be in Europe from May 15th until August 3rd. That’s 80 days then I will fly to New York and spend the next 17 days in the Northeast U.S. From there I will fly back home on August 20th. That’s 97 days in total. 97 days on the road and all I can bring is one small backpack. This is going to be a challenge…
In this video, I am attempting to finalize my packing list, and explain the necessity of each item.
Clothes:
First and foremost, I must bring clothes. Clothes will take up most of the room in my bag, so I must be intentional about each item. I am not the most fashionable fellow, but when I think of a Summer Europe trip I certainly am not thinking hiking boots, cargo shorts, and a sun hat. I am thinking classic, cool attire. I am thinking wes Andersen, Talented Mr. RIbpley, Oceans twelve, or heck even Lucca. Plus, I have recently read Black Ivy and also watched an interview of Ralph Lauren, both which I do reccomend. Because of all this, ivy style is for me right now the epitome of cool. So, I would like to attempt to dress in this way as best I can.
Therefore
- I am bringing 2-3 Polo’s
- 2-3 t-shirts
- 2 Pairs of Dress Shorts and
- a belt.
- 1 Swim Suit
- And one pair of cotton shorts for relaxing and pajamas.
- 6 pairs of socks and
- six of underwear too.
- Finally, one jacket and (wear on flight)
- one pair of shoes. (wear on flight)
- I also would like to bring a hat so I dont have to fix my hair everyday, but one of my little fantasies is that I’ll buy a flat cap in London. I don’t know if I’d ever wear once I am back in the states, but I think it will be fun and funny to wear one while in Europe.
My other main concern is
Technology:
Here is the tech I will bring.
- My Laptop.
- For the Daily work of:
- Making a video and
- Publishing my daily journal via a newletter and on my website.
- I will be Trying to use it as little as necessary. Only using if it furthers creative or self-educative goal.
- My phone
- For all the reasons that a tool this versatile is needed.
- I am not bringing it for distraction or entertainment. It will be put away when its use is not absolutly necessary. All desire for entertainment with be funnelled to…
- My Ereader
- To fully explain this device it deserves it’s own video.
- But I am bringing it for It’s or the ability to dowload and store any book
- For reading on Trains, beaches, cafes, or at night.
- Wired Headphones with an adapter.
- I choose wired headphones because as far as I know they do not radiate any EMFs. and
- I choose the aux jack with adapter beacsuse they are multi purpose. Can be used on my laptop, ereader, or phone.
- My Camera
- For documenting each day via film and photography.
- A tripod.
- To enhance and assist the use of my camera.
- My LaCie Hard-drive.
- For storing all photo’s and videos taken each day.
- My red reading light
- For reading after dark.
- I choose red light because it is best I know of for circadian health and
- becuase it disrupts others trying to fall asleep the least.
- Chargers and adapters
- mini hdmi
- For Camera and
- Red Night light
- Usbc
- For ereader
- and, if necessary, my laptop
- iphone and mac chargers
- for my iphone and mac
Finally we have
Miscellaneous items
- Toiletries
- A Tooth Brush
- for brushing teeth
- A Razor
- for shaving
- A Tounge Scraper
- for tounge scraping
- and Deodorant.
- to mask my manly musk
- I will buy toothpaste, shampoo, and soap once in Europe.
- My wallet
- which contains my :
- Credit Card
- This particualr card does not have any foreign transaction fees.
- My state issued liscence and
- my International Liscene
- These two items will be used in conjunction to allow me to rent a boat or a vespa if i find myself struck by the urge to do so
- My Passport
- For my departure and rentrance into my homeland the U. S. of A.
- My pencil
- For the act of writing my thoughts and emotions throughout the trip in my…
- Journal
This conludes my essentials packing list for 97 days on the road. I think i have accounted for all the necessities of my particular style of living, but we shall see. Either way much will be learned from this brave endeavor.
