I would like to bring high-art to YouTube eventually. I would like to basically treat one act of Shakespeare as an entire play. It would have its own unique setting and style. Then, I would release Act I for example as one stand alone YouTube video. After, I would make Act II with its own, new setting again and release that as a video. After doing this for all 5 Acts I would then compile each video into one complete video. I could do this for a few of his plays and if I enjoy it and the format I can go through his Complete Works.
The purpose of this would be to teach me Shakespeare to the deepest possible level, give him exposure to the world in an engaging way, and improve my skills as a filmmaker and director. This would maybe be a good project to take on before I endeavor to complete my Greek Tragedy movie. I can experiment with filming tragedies in creative and engaging ways using Shakespeare’s material to learn before I make my own.
