Aims of Course:
Latin 2066 is an intermediate course designed to guide you through the remaining grammar which you did not cover in 2053. The prerequisites for this course are Latin 1001, 205, and 2053. The more specific aims of the course are to develop your capacity to read Latin more fluently, to deepen your knowledge of Latin grammar, and to familiarize you with the ancient Roman world which was torn by political strife, civil wars, and the power politics of the late Re[ublic and early Empire. We will also begin to gain an appreciation of Latin style, learning rhetorical and stylistic features to help us discuss and analyze prose. The aim of the course is to make you better readers of Latin in every sense.
General Requirements:
You will have daily translation and grammar assignments. You will be quizzed frequently on the grammar. The quizzes will be announced in class in during the prior class meeting. It is your responsibility to to be informed of them. There will also be two midterm exams and a final exam.

Course Requirements:
- Completion of all assigned translations and grammatical material by the due dates.
- Participation in class including oral translation of assigned passages, preparedness in answering questions related to grammar lessons, and mastery of vocabulary.
- Completion of all quizzes. No makeups.
- Completion of two midterm exams.
- Completion final exam.
